Colosseum Concepts and was established by Franco Ciman in 1992. Franco was born in Italy and has carried down generations of pizza and pizza oven manufacturing traditions and skills. He is a qualified engineer and was involved in automotive manufacturing and project management before turning his hobby into a business.
Colosseum Concepts initially manufactured only the traditional wood burning pizza oven, but Franco soon realised the need for an affordable, more efficient, compact version of the oven – but it was important not to compromise on the quality of the pizza. After months of development, the gas burning oven came to be and since then has been sold all over the world.
Later Colosseum Concepts established a pizza base business to supply their customers the pizza to go with the oven. They also designed, manufactured and operated vending trailers with the oven. At one event, they sold 1250 pizzas in 12 hours from one trailer and then realised the enormous demand for the product. The design of the trailers developed over the years and today it is an efficient mobile kitchen with a unique look that stands out above all other vending units.
All this experience and know-how has now been made available as pizzAroma. The name pizzAroma is a play of the words pizza (obviously), Roma – the Italian connection, and Aroma – the mark of a good pizzeria.
The latest new product from Colosseum Concepts is the pizza cone. Admittedly not the first, but without doubt the first to use authentic pizza crust for the cone.
